Participants at the ICT in Education Conference which kicked off in Ocho Rios were treated to insightful presentations which they will use to enhance the delivery of teaching and learning in keeping with the demands of 21st century standards.

The three-day event began at the Moon Palace Jamaica Grande Hotel today (Wed Oct 26) with participants drawn from a number of partner organisations including from government, non-government organisations, academia and the private sector sharing their experiences and cutting-edge practices on how to improve Jamaica’s education output through the integration of ICT.
The conference, was held under the theme “ICT and the Human Factor – Agents of Social and Economic Tranformation” was staged through the collaboration of several key education partners e-Learning Jamaica Company, the Jamaica Tertiary Education Commission (J-TEC), e-Learning Jamaica (e-LJam), The University of the West Indies (UWI), University of Technology, Jamaica (UTech), Jamaica Teachers’ Association (JTA), HEART Trust NTA and ICT-4D.
e-LJam is an agency of the Ministry of Science, Energy and Technology (MSET), and is responsible for, among other things, the integration of technology in the education system, through the use of digitized learning materials, and facilitating the training of teachers in technology.
