Training teachers in Microsoft Certification a success

e-Learning Jamaica Company Ltd. is ensuring that the nation’s teachers are equipped with the skills necessary to enable teaching and learning with the use of technology. This is in keeping with its mandate to promote the integration and infusion of technology into Jamaica’s education system.

To this end, e-LJam has partnered with Microsoft Jamaica to deliver the Microsoft Certified Educator (MCE) Technology Integration Training Programme to more than 1500 high school teachers across Jamaica.

The programme is designed to train high school teachers in Microsoft Integration Methodologies to improve instructional delivery.

Nearly 900 teachers have been certified to date.

The MCE training for teachers is an initiative of the board of directors of e-LJam, which includes representatives of the Ministry of Education (MOE) across Jamaica.

The assessment component of the MCE training programme was contracted to HEART Trust/NTA, and more recently the Mico Foundation (Mico University College).
