Don’t Steal The Tablets, Warns Romario McKenzie

Romario McKenzie

Romario McKenzie, captain of the Calabar High School track team, warns the public about the risks of attempting to steal Tablets from students. These Tablets are being distributed under the Government of Jamaica Tablets in School Programme through e-Learning Jamaica Company Limited.

Romario highlights the fact that it will be a waste of time to steal the Tablets, as there are a number of security features installed on these devices. These features ensure that anyone who tries to steal them will be caught. Some of the security features are:

  • The Tablets are “bricked” to enable remote shutdown
  • GPS has been installed to geo-locate the Tablets anywhere in the world
  • Tracking is activated when you connect to the Internet

“Don’t Steal The Tablets”, Warns Romario McKenzie

Distribution of tablets to teachers commenced in July 2014, while students will begin receiving tablets in September and October 2014. Tablets will be distributed to institutions in each of the six educational regions.
